About PAT

I am an independent homeschool teacher, tutor, academic coach, and educational consultant.  Whether you're looking for consultation and intervention to help a student meet academic or social expectations at a local school or for help in planning and implementing a secondary homeschool program, I hope that you'll reach out to me so that we can discuss your needs, goals, and current challenges.  I have a lifetime of experience as both a student and a teacher in the area, at both public and private schools.

I believe strongly in a student-centered, holistic approach to lifelong learning.  As a result, I hold no rigid preconceptions as to what types of school experience or what modes of learning will be best for any particular family or student.  Ultimately, I am here in part to help students and their families understand external expectations (like those of a teacher, a school, a test, etc.) -- but only in service of achieving your personal goals.

So, with all potential new clients, I like to begin with informal conversations -- via email, over the phone, in-person...whatever is most comfortable for you.  As we share some basic information and begin to ask specific questions, we can work to determine exactly what you're looking for and how I might be able to help.
